Bar at Love Craft in Florence, Italy

Love Craft Whiskey Bar in Florence, Italy

I love whiskey cocktails, so when I found out about Love Craft in Florence, I couldn’t wait to go there for a drink or two.

Located in Borgo San Frediano in the Oltrarno area, the city’s first whiskey bar, which opened in 2018, quickly became popular. After experiencing the unique vibe and delicious drinks, I can see why.

The bar is named after HP Lovecraft, a Rhode Island native and the inventor of the literary genre known as “cosmic horror.” You’ll see his life and times reflected in the portrait on the wall and in the dark decor.

What you’ll also notice is the impressive collection of whiskey behind the bar – over 200 bottles illuminated in blue and white.

The menu consists of single whiskeys as well as flights, whiskey-based cocktails, and some craft beers.

The server was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations based on what we were looking for. Jeremy started off with a Dark Matter, a cocktail consisting of coffee-infused whiskey, Grand Marnier, salted caramel syrup, fresh orange juice, and egg white.

I had The Evil Priest – scotch whiskey infused with coconut oil, coconut syrup, and a blend of lemon, mango and passionfruit juices.

Mine was so good that I had a second round.
